SEO consulting services are for companies that want a strategy and a plan, and would rather have their own team do the work than pay an agency retainer every month. Global One Digital audits your site, compares it with the pages that already rank in Google, writes a plan for the next quarter, and then answers questions while your in-house team or a contractor carries it out. Everything is done in writing, and every package has a fixed price agreed before the work starts.

A typical request from a founder or a marketing lead sounds like this: «We have a developer and a writer, we just do not know what to give them.» An SEO consultant closes that gap by telling your team what to change, in what order, and how to check the result in Google Search Console two weeks later.
What SEO consulting services include
The consulting packages cover the analysis and planning side of search engine optimization. Execution stays with your team, or comes from us as a separate quote if you want it.
- An SEO audit: a crawl of the site with our own crawler (around 90 technical checks), a review of indexing and query data in Search Console, and a written list of problems sorted by impact. The page and site audit is also sold on its own with a 48-hour turnaround.
- Keyword research and clustering: search volumes from Keyword Planner for your target country, queries grouped into clusters, one cluster mapped to one page. This is where many B2B websites lose: three pages compete for the same query and none of them rank.
- Competitor comparison: our parser pulls the top 10 for each target query and measures word count, heading structure and which terms the ranking pages share. Your page gets a gap list, meaning the words and sections the top 10 have and yours does not.
- An SEO strategy and a quarterly plan: which pages to create, which to rewrite, which to merge or delete, and how to change internal links. Each task has an owner (writer, developer, you) and an estimated effort in hours.
- Content briefs for the pages that matter most: target query, required sections, term list, length, and internal links to add. A writer can produce a competitive page from the brief without guessing.
- Technical recommendations as a developer-ready ticket list: redirects, canonical tags, sitemap fixes, speed items. Deeper crawl and Core Web Vitals work is described on the technical SEO page.
- A link profile review: an Ahrefs or Semrush export, lost and toxic backlinks flagged, and a realistic target for new referring domains. Acquiring links is a separate link building service.
- Support for your in-house team: a monthly written review of what was implemented, what moved in rankings, and what to do next. Questions by email or WhatsApp get an answer within one business day.
SEO consulting compared with an agency retainer and an in-house hire
An SEO agency retainer sells hours: a set number of pages, links and reports per month, whether or not that is what the site needs this month. Consulting sells decisions. You pay for the audit, the strategy and the plan, then buy execution only where your team cannot do it.
The trade-off is real. A retainer suits a business with nobody on staff to touch the site, because someone has to publish the pages and change the templates. Consulting suits a business that already has a writer, a developer or a marketing generalist and needs direction more than hands. Our SEO care plans exist for the first case. This page is about the second.
Compared with hiring an in-house SEO specialist, a consultant costs less than a salary, starts within a week instead of a quarter, and brings comparison data from other sites in your niche. The downside is availability. A consultant answers in writing within a day and is not sitting in the next room.
When it makes sense to hire an SEO consultant
Five situations account for most of the requests in our inbox.
- Organic traffic has been flat for six months and nobody can say why. An audit plus a Search Console review usually finds the cause within two days: keyword cannibalization, a section blocked from indexing, or content that is thinner than the top 10.
- A redesign or migration is coming. Rankings are lost in migrations far more often than they are gained. The tattoo studio migration kept every position and grew visibility from 794 to 4,754 impressions a month because the redirect map and the templates were checked before launch.
- A SaaS or B2B company is entering a new market and wants to know which queries to target in the United States, Germany or the United Kingdom before writing a single page. That research is described under international SEO.
- An in-house marketer knows the basics and wants a second opinion on priorities, plus someone to check the work each month.
- The budget is real but not agency-sized. A fixed consulting package produces a plan that can be executed with freelancers over a year.

How we work: from written brief to quarterly plan
- Written brief, day 1. You send the domain, the target countries, the products or services that make money, and read-only access to Google Search Console and GA4. A call is not required; a form or an email is enough.
- Fixed quote, day 1 to 2. After reading the brief we reply with the package scope, the price and the delivery date. The price does not change afterwards.
- Audit and research, days 3 to 10. Crawl, Search Console analysis, keyword research, competitor comparison for the 20 to 30 most important queries. Findings go into a shared document as they appear, so you are not waiting for a big reveal at the end.
- Strategy and plan, days 10 to 14. A document of 15 to 30 pages: what to do this quarter, what next quarter, and what to ignore. Every task lists the expected effort and the metric to watch in Search Console.
- Handover, day 15. A written question round. Your developer and writer ask anything about the plan; answers come back within one business day.
- Monthly follow-up, optional. Once a month we compare implemented tasks with Search Console data, adjust the next month, and flag anything Google has changed.
Reports are numbers from Search Console and GA4 that you can open yourself. There is no separate dashboard to learn and no metric that only we can see.
Pricing: a fixed quote after a written brief
Consulting is priced per package, not per hour. The scope depends on three things: how many pages the site has, how many target queries and countries are in play, and whether monthly follow-up is included. After a written brief you get one number, and that number holds for the whole engagement. There is no percentage of revenue and no six-month contract.
Two products with public prices sit next to the consulting packages. The SEO audit is a fixed-price written audit of one page or a full site, delivered in 48 hours, and it is the usual first step before a consulting engagement. The SEO care plans are monthly plans for small businesses that need execution as well as advice, with no contract term. Programs for B2B and SaaS companies in Europe are on the pricing page. If none of those fits, the brief is the place to start.
Who SEO consulting is for, and who should choose something else
SEO consulting services fit B2B and SaaS companies with a marketing team of one to five people, digital marketing agencies that want a strategy layer for their own clients, and small businesses whose owner is willing to do the work from a plan. They also fit companies in the US, Europe and CIS that want a partner working in English and Russian without scheduled calls across time zones.
It is the wrong choice if nobody on your side will touch the site. A plan that is not executed changes nothing, and we would rather say so up front than sell it. In that case a care plan or a full SEO engagement is a better fit. It is also the wrong choice for anyone who wants a guarantee of first-page rankings. Nobody can give that honestly, and a consultant who does is telling you something about the rest of their advice.
What happens when the plan is followed
The clearest example is a small one. A cleaning company in Tbilisi came to us with 8 clicks a month from Google. The work followed the same sequence described above: audit, query clusters, one page per service, monthly checks. The site now gets 199 clicks a month, 25 times more, with top-3 positions for its main queries. Details are in the cleaning company case study.
A construction company followed the same logic at a larger scale: 40 queries reached the top 10 and clicks grew 13 times over 12 months (case study). Neither result came from a trick. Both came from a written plan, executed in order, and checked against Search Console every month. The plan is the part a consultant delivers; the discipline to follow it is the client’s.
Frequently asked questions about SEO consulting
What does an SEO consultant actually do?
Diagnoses why a site is not ranking, decides what to fix first, and writes it down so someone else can do it. In practice that means audits, keyword research, competitor comparison, page briefs, and monthly reviews of Search Console data. A consultant does not usually write the pages or change the code, though we can quote for that separately.
How much do SEO consulting services cost?
Each package is quoted at a fixed price after a written brief, and the price depends on site size, number of target queries and countries, and whether monthly support is included. For reference, the standalone SEO audit and the care plans have public prices shown by country. Hourly billing is not offered.
How long does it take to see results?
The plan arrives in about two weeks. Movement in Search Console usually shows within 4 to 8 weeks after the first batch of changes goes live, and larger gains build over 3 to 6 months as more pages are rewritten. New domains take longer than established ones.
Do we need a consultant if we already have a marketing team?
If the team already runs technical audits, competitor comparison and keyword clustering, probably not. If the team is strong at content and Google Ads but treats organic search as a side task, a consultant gives them a plan and a monthly check without adding headcount.
Can you implement the plan as well?
Yes. Content writing, technical fixes and link acquisition are quoted separately, or included in a care plan. Some clients keep consulting for strategy and hire us only for the parts their team cannot cover, such as content at scale or a migration.
Do you work with local businesses and ecommerce, or only B2B?
Both. Local SEO for service businesses and category-level work for online stores follow the same audit-then-plan process, with different priorities: Google Business Profile and reviews for local, category pages and filters for ecommerce. See local SEO and SEO for ecommerce for the specifics.
What do you need from us to start?
The domain, target countries, your main products or services, and read-only access to Google Search Console and GA4. If you already have keyword lists or a previous audit, send those too; it shortens the research stage.
To get a fixed quote, write to info@development-web.com with your domain and target countries, or start with a written SEO audit and decide on the consulting package after you have read it.
