How many Google Fonts is too many?

Keep it to two families maximum for B2B sites — one heading, one body. Each additional font family adds 50-200KB of font files. Three families is acceptable if one is used only for a logo or small accent. More than three is almost always a sign of inconsistent design.

+
Should body and heading be the same font?

Using one font for both is increasingly common in B2B SaaS — Inter, Manrope, IBM Plex Sans are designed to work at all scales. The advantage: clean, consistent feel + one font file to load. The downside: less visual hierarchy. Most modern SaaS interfaces use one sans-serif everywhere.

+
What's the safest heading + body pair for B2B?

Manrope or Inter for body + the same font (bold) for headings = safest and fastest-loading. For more editorial feel, Playfair Display headings + Inter body is a classic pair. Avoid display fonts (decorative) and pixel fonts (gimmicky) for heading on B2B sites.

Are Google Fonts free for commercial use?

Yes. All Google Fonts are open-source (Open Font License or Apache 2.0). You can use them on commercial sites, in products, in printed materials, anywhere. The hosting via fonts.googleapis.com is also free and uses Google's CDN.
