The brief. Build, from scratch, a website for a romantic-experience service — rooftop dinners, surprises, marriage proposals — across European cities, with SEO designed in from day one so the platform grows in search as it fills out, instead of being rebuilt later. It is a case about WHAT we built and HOW: the design and the search architecture. A year on it has numbers too, and they are below, together with the slump that happened along the way.
What we designed and built
- Programmatic geo structure country → city (e.g. /spain/barcelona/, /germany/munich/) — a scalable frame for every new city without rebuilding the site.
- Service clusters — dedicated landing pages for date, proposal and wedding organization, tied to each city.
- Blog content cluster — date ideas, proposal ideas, anniversary gifts: capturing demand early and linking internally to the services.
- An interactive date-idea generator — engagement and a natural reason for links and shares.
- Bilingual EN + ES with hreflang from launch — separate content per language, no cannibalisation.
- A clean technical foundation — speed, schema, correct indexation and a «get a quote» lead form on every key page.
Why this is «SEO from day one»
Most service sites are built to look good, then rebuilt for search months later. Here the structure mirrors how people actually search: by city («date organization Barcelona»), by service («proposal organization») and by idea («romantic date ideas»). Every page owns a marker query, cities scale from a template, and the blog and generator feed the service pages with links and engagement. That is the foundation organic growth builds on — instead of fighting the site for it.
One year in (Google Search Console data)
This case was written as a build story because there were no numbers yet. Now there are, and the year came with a hole in the middle.
| Period | Clicks | Impressions |
|---|---|---|
| First 28 days after launch | 27 | 223 |
| May 2026, the floor | 1 | 38 |
| September 2026 | 199 | 6,085 |
| Last 28 days | 179 | 7,313 |
Until June the site barely breathed, with a single click across the whole of May. July turned it round once the cities and the blog filled out: 84 clicks, then 129, then 199. The year totals 619 clicks and 20,895 impressions. Over the last 28 days the site shows for 631 queries, 102 of them in the top 10 and 21 in the top 3.
The geo structure paid off
This is what the country→city frame was built for. /georgia/birthday/ pulls 228 impressions at position 9.4, /spain/madrid/ 195. The Costa Dorada cluster in Spanish did better still: «coordinación de bodas costa dorada» at 3.8, «organizadora de bodas costa dorada» at 7.1, «organizador de bodas costa dorada» at 9.0. Cities scaled from the template, and their queries arrived without per-city work.
The idea generator earns its place
The interactive date-idea generator pulls 320 impressions a month at position 8.6, and six clicks. That is more than any English service page except marriage proposals.
What is not there yet
The big Barcelona wedding queries sit between 46 and 65, pages five to seven. The Spanish version has gathered 4,542 impressions across 61 pages but only 62 clicks: it collects visibility rather than visits. The English side draws fewer impressions, 3,006, and 117 clicks. Georgia converts best per impression at 438 impressions and 22 clicks.
That is the price of a wide frame. Pages enter the index quickly and take far longer to reach the first page on the expensive queries. Barcelona is the next job.
FAQ
Can SEO be built in when the site is created?
Not only can it — it is more efficient than optimising a finished site. Semantic structure, multilingual setup and a clean technical base laid at the start save months of later rework.
Why a country→city geo structure?
Local commercial queries («date organization in [city]») convert best. A templated geo structure lets you add cities without rewriting the site.
Why an interactive generator and a blog?
They capture the audience before the purchase, keep people on the site, and earn natural links — which is what later lifts the commercial pages.
