Image Compressor

Drop an image, pick output format and quality, optionally resize. JPG, PNG, or WebP output. All client-side — image never uploads.

Compressing images is the single biggest performance win for most B2B websites. This tool compresses JPG, PNG, or converts to WebP entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Quality slider for lossy formats, optional max-width resize. Nothing uploads to our server — image data stays in your browser tab.

What's the best image format for a B2B SaaS site?

WebP for photographs and screenshots — 25-35% smaller than JPEG with similar quality. PNG for logos, icons, and anything with transparency or text. JPEG only when WebP isn't supported (very rare in 2026, only IE/old Safari). Modern B2B sites should default to WebP with HTML tags for JPEG fallback if absolutely needed.

How does this compare to TinyPNG or Squoosh?

TinyPNG uses server-side compression with custom algorithms — slightly better compression than browser Canvas API. Squoosh (Google) is the gold standard for in-browser compression with multiple algorithm options. Our tool is in between: pure Canvas API (browser default), faster than Squoosh, slightly less efficient than TinyPNG but no upload required.

+
Why is my PNG bigger after compression?

PNG is lossless — Canvas API just re-encodes. If your source PNG was already optimised (via TinyPNG, ImageOptim, etc.), our tool can produce a larger file due to different encoder settings. For PNG specifically, use TinyPNG or ImageOptim. Our tool is best for JPG → JPG (with quality drop) or JPG → WebP conversion.

+
Is it safe to compress images this way?

Yes — all processing happens in your browser via Canvas API. Nothing uploads to our server, no third-party libraries. You can verify by opening browser DevTools → Network tab — no outbound requests when you compress. Confirmed by viewing the tool's HTML source.
