Mobile App Maintenance for iOS and Android
Mobile App Maintenance from Global One Digital keeps your iOS and Android applications running through OS updates, crash reports, performance regressions and security patches. We work with apps we built and apps we did not, onboarding cleanly with a one to two week audit before starting the retainer.
What is included in our retainers
Baseline coverage on every plan: OS update support (Apple and Google ship major releases yearly with breaking changes), crash monitoring with rapid triage of new issues, performance tuning as new features and data accumulate, security patches for both your code and third-party dependencies, App Store and Play Store submission management for updates, plus regular dependency audits. Higher tiers add dedicated engineer assignment, on-call response for incidents and a quota of new feature work.
Why apps need maintenance more than websites
Mobile platforms move faster than the web. Apple deprecates APIs every year. Google changes Play Store policies every quarter. Push notification rules shift. Background work limits tighten with each OS version. An unmaintained app starts crashing on newer phones within twelve months and fails App Store review when you next submit an update. Maintenance is corrective (fixing what breaks), adaptive (keeping pace with platform changes) and preventive (catching regressions before users do).
Onboarding apps we did not build
Most maintenance clients come to us with apps built by other agencies. Onboarding takes one to two weeks: code audit, dependency review, identifying technical debt that should be addressed before it becomes urgent, setting up monitoring and alerting if not already in place, documenting current state. After the audit the retainer starts cleanly with a known baseline.
Stacks we maintain
Native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit). Native Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, legacy Java where needed). Cross-platform: React Native, Flutter. We do not do hybrid frameworks like Cordova or Ionic — those are usually expensive to maintain over time, and migration to React Native or PWA is often the better answer.
Communication and response times
Slack and email support with twenty-four hour response on weekdays for Growth tier and higher. Starter is business-hours response only. After-hours emergency response on Scale tier. Monthly summary reports plus quarterly strategy reviews where we propose improvements and identify technical debt.

Frequently asked questions
For most B2B and SaaS apps, React Native or Flutter ships faster and costs less while feeling indistinguishable from native to users. For consumer apps with heavy graphics, ARKit or hardware integration, native Swift/Kotlin is the right call.
MVP single-platform: 6-8 weeks. Production cross-platform: 10-14 weeks. Native iOS + Android with custom modules: 16+ weeks.
Yes. We submit on your developer accounts, handle review feedback, set up TestFlight and Play Console internal testing tracks, and configure release pipelines.
Maintenance retainers cover OS update support (iOS/Android), crash monitoring, performance tuning and security patches. Typically $1.2-4K/month depending on app complexity.
Yes. We work with REST and GraphQL APIs, handle authentication (JWT, OAuth), and design caching and offline-sync strategies that match your backend constraints.
